Spooktastic Reads 2024

The nights are drawing in, growing darker. Growing colder. Who knows what strange and terrifying things might be out there, in the dark? So it’s a good time to think about cosying up indoors, by a fire, with a good (spooky) book or two! Or three. Have you heard of Spooktastic Reads? Let me tell you about it.

Spooktastic Reads 2019

The nerd beacons are lit! Wyrd & Wonder calls for aid! And your TBR will (hopefully) answer. I admit it feels a little odd to be announcing this in the middle of a summer heatwave, but screw it – the team at Wyrd & Wonder are nothing if not excitable, and we’re already making plans. So it seems only fair to give you lot a chance to do the same. Announcing Spooktastic Reads 2019!

Top Ten Tuesday: Spooktastic TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish, and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is a freebie! And since it’s almost Halloween and the penultimate day of Spooktastic Reads, I’m going to share some seasonally appropriate books that are still (or have now been put) on my TBR list!

City of Ghosts (Cassidy Blake #1), by V.E. Schwab

There are few places in the world more fitting as a setting for a ghost story than Edinburgh (yes, I’m biased, what of it?), and in City of Ghosts it’s clear to see that Ms Schwab not only agrees, but revels in the darker side of the city’s history. This book is a love letter to that history, and it’s appropriately chilling in itself. Let’s take a look at my first selection for Spooktastic Reads!
