Hello, dear geeks! We may be entering Spooky Season but today I have an announcement for November’s SciFi Month event. As many of you might know, I like to organise a Read Along each year. I hope you’re as excited for it as I am because this year I will be hosting a Read Along for the final book in the Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers – The Galaxy, and the Ground Within!

As a reminder, or if you’re new to the event/these Read Alongs, I will be splitting the book into three sections of several chapters each, to be read per week with questions pertaining to that section’s events. If you decide to read along, great! If you think you’d like to host a week, also great! As we’ve done for previous Read Alongs during Wyrd & Wonder, I’ll be setting up a Twitter Community for this Read Along. If you would like to host a week or just take part, give me a shout @deargeekplace and I’ll send an invite your way.

Side note: new and re-readers alike are entirely welcome! Just be mindful of anything spoilery if anyone is new to the book. Cheers.

And on that note, let’s get to the reading schedule*, shall we?

* These chapter splits are based on the UK hardcover edition of the book, but I will pinpoint each opening/closing chapter as best I can as page numbers may vary.

• Week 1: from Prologue, “Opening Hours”, up to Part 4, “Attempted Repairs”. Q&As on Saturday, November 12th
• Week 2: from Part 4, “Attempted Repairs”, up to “Compounded System Failure”. Q&As on Saturday, November 19th
• Week 3: from “Compounded System Failure” up to the end. Q&As on Saturday, November 26th

Please note that these post dates are intended as a guideline rather than a rule – if Saturdays don’t work for you, feel free to pick a different day during that week to post! Once again, though, please do be mindful that spoilers may happen if you’re not all caught up.
