Wyrd and Wonder Adventure Log: Week 1

It’s been a week since we set off on this year’s adventure for Wyrd and Wonder, and you know what that means – it’s time for an adventure log! Today I’ll be rounding up your intro/TBR posts and covering your various lists. Let’s dive in!

First up, let’s look at who’s planning what with a round of intro posts!

Nicole at BookWyrm Knits; Nic at Dragon Rambles; Jak Laurel; Rachael at The Green Tea Librarian; Celeste at A Literary Escape; Lauren at Always Me; Janette at Witchy Reading; Zezee With Books; Athena at One Reading Nurse; Jinjer at Intrepid Angeleno; Peat Long; Anouk at Time for Tales and Tea; Tammy at Books, Bones and Buffy; Nicky at The Bibliophibian; Snapdragon Alcove; and Heather at Based on a True Story.

And on the hosting side, here’s what I’ll be up to, along with Annemieke at A Dance With Books, Ariana at The Book Nook, Jorie Loves A Story, and imyril at There’s Always Room For One More.

On to the lists! We got a good few posts in this week for our Fantastic Fives:

Heather at Based on a True Story and Zezee With Books covered Myths;

Annemieke at A Dance With Books, Ariana at The Book Nook, and imyril at There’s Always Room For One More explored Davy Jones’s Locker;

Annemieke, Mayri at Bookforager, and The Captain at Captain’s Quarters went diving for shipwrecks;

Top Ten Tuesday was all about seascape cover art, which Annemieke, Heather, Janette and imyril all got in on;

Louise at Foxes and Fairytales took to YouTube for an exploration of Fantastical Journeys (Lost at Sea);

Anouk at Time for Tales and Tea discussed this year’s Hugo Award nominations for Best Short Story, for our Bite-size Islands prompt;

Janette at Witchy Reading looked to the horizon for a post on upcoming fantasy books;

Sia at Every Book A Doorway revisited magic systems for a top ten post, and presented some mer/selkie themed recommendations. She also celebrated her 1000th post by sharing some soulshaking SFF;

Athena at One Reading Nurse brought us some lesser known nautical fantasy books for Under The Radar;

Lauren at Always Me looked back at her favourite fantasy books read since last May;

and Peat Long brought us some men behaving badly for Dark and Stormy Knights!

Well, that’s it for this weekly wrap-up – but don’t forget imyril has your reviews, read-alongs and random treasure covered! Pop over there to see what everyone’s been reading this week, won’t you? I’ll see you next time around…
