THEN AGAIN: Vintage Photography Reimagined by One Artist and Thirty Writers

Got something a bit different for you today, folks! While I scramble around behind the scenes, preparing for Wyrd & Wonder and trying to catch up on review writing (this preparation business is serious, yo), let’s take a little break and look at a neat Kickstarter campaign that’s come to my attention…

THEN AGAIN: Vintage Photography Reimagined by One Artist and Thirty Writers is an anthology project being created and edited by Laura Christensen, a visual artist who paints on rediscovered vintage photographs. She has invited 30 award-winning writers to contribute stories and poems in response to her art, and this anthology will be the result (pending full funding, of course!).

Writers involved with the project include John Crowley, Sofia Samatar, Tina Connolly, Elizabeth Hand, Paul di Filippo and more.

To help with the anthology’s funding and production, Laura is offering a special edition through the Kickstarter campaign, and if you’re curious and want to know more you can find Laura herself either on Facebook or Instagram.

I really am intrigued by the idea behind this anthology. As someone who loves to look at photographs and imagine what might be going on, either in the frame or beyond it; what the subject might have been doing/thinking/saying in that captured moment, I can definitely appreciate a group of writers coming together to do just that.

So go forth and check out this project, and show some support if it’s also your cup of tea! The project is already around halfway to being fully funded, and you’ve still time to get in. So, get in!

Best of luck to Laura and her team of writers!

About Me

Dear Geek Place is my new home on the internet, though I've been around here before - I am the blogger formerly known as @EffingRainbow. Here, you can still find reviews of science fiction and fantasy books, but hopefully more besides, as I throw myself cheerfully out into the world and attempt to chronicle my experiences, one adventure at a time.
