The days are getting longer and the sun is making a comeback, but over at Wyrd and Wonder HQ we’re more interested in the phases of the moon. In fact, we’re making all things moon-related our fantasy theme for this year’s event!

For the uninitiated, Wyrd and Wonder is an online event celebrating everything fantasy, in which the bookish/nerdy community gathers to share their favourite stories and/or discover new ones. It’s hosted by imyril at There’s Always Room For One More, Jorie at Jorie Loves A Story, Annemieke at A Dance With Books, Ariana at The Book Nook and myself, Lisa, here at Dear Geek Place. Wyrd and Wonder runs throughout the month of May, and this year we’re back with a very moonlit theme in a nod to the fact that May 2026 will begin and end with a full moon.
There are normally a handful of regular features, but we’ll detail those in (near) future updates. For now, you can – if you wish – sign up using our participation form, which will give you access to our master schedule, where we share links to posts across various categories. The better to find things to nerd out over, you see!
If official sign-ups aren’t your thing, that’s totally fine! You can find us on Bluesky (@wyrdandwonder.bsky.social) and Instagram (@wyrdandwonder), and you can also join our dedicated Discord server, OtherWorlds – just toss your Discord handle our way for an invite.
And if you’d like to fly the flag by using our banners and/or social media buttons in your posts, feel free! They’re available in this handy post from imyril – we only ask that you remember to credit the artist (details below).
I think that’s it for information for the moment, but check back soon as we’ll have details on a few read-alongs/buddy reads/other fun things in the works!
