Mag boots on: It’s time for SciFi Month!

Hard to believe it’s already November, but here we go!

Let’s take a look at what this frazzled but excited co-captain has on deck…

First up, there’s still time to enter our sign-up giveaways for bookish prizes – the giveaway will close on November 7th, with winners announced on November 8th. All you have to do is sign up via our sign-up form and make a SciFi Month-focused post – either on your blog or social media (Twitter, Instagram, video or podcast) by the 7th! Please note that it helps a great deal if you link us to your post(s) on the SciFi Month master schedule!

OK! With that reminder done, let’s look at what I’ll be getting up to, or hoping to get up to, this November:

COWBOY BEBOP: With the live-action version coming to Netflix, and the original anime now streaming there too, I decided it was high time I stopped circling this and dive on in! Starting tomorrow night, I’ll be livetweeting my way through each episode of the anime, and you can follow along on my first-timer adventures – I’ll be using #CowboyBebop and of course the #SciFiMonth hashtag to chart my course.

As for the books I’ll be reading, that is forever subject to change but I’m especially eager to sink my teeth into the following:

  • Ten Low by Stark Holborn
  • A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine
  • Firebreak by Nicole Kornher-Stace
  • We Are Satellites by Sarah Pinsker
  • Light From Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki

And of course, our Read Along book of choice this year – Winter’s Orbit by Everina Maxwell!

The first flurry of posts as we kick off the event have already begun, so imyril and myself already have work to do behind the scenes; it’s time I got on with it! So that’s it from me for now…
