The air is growing warmer, the birds are getting chirpier (more chirpy?), and my eyes begin to itch. It must be springtime! And springtime means it’s time to tease all of you fantastic nerds with an announcement of Wyrd & Wonder 2025!

First of all, as always, Wyrd and Wonder is an annual month-long celebration of all things fantasy, held in May and organised/gently guided by the co-captains of this good ship – imyril at There’s Always Room For One More, Annemieke at A Dance With Books, Ariana at The Book Nook, Jorie at Jorie Loves A Story, and yours truly!

Our theme for this year’s event is nautical fantasy – anything with watery elements goes. So bring us your favourite pirates, mermaids, sea monsters etc, and dive into previously uncharted waters to find shiny new treasures with us! Also as always, however, we like to keep our theme as broad and open to interpretation as possible, so if you think it might fit the theme, it probably does. You don’t need to convince us, but it’s always fun to be convinced, so bring whatever you vibe with and let’s see who vibes along with you!

We’ll have our usual bag of fun community tricks, such as the annual prompt challenge and a tasty selection of buddy reading options, as well as a bingo reading challenge! More details on all of that will be forthcoming in future updates, as we chart our course May-ward.
